Event Services at the Student Union provides comprehensive event planning and consultation as well as versatile venue spaces. We will partner with you to arrange the appropriate venue space and plan a successful event within your budget. We can assist you with all of the event planning details, including catering, linens, décor, and audio-visual.
Our venue spaces are ideal locations for academic, community and company events, and conferences. We hold many types of events, from seminars to public conferences to weddings. The MLK, Jr. Student Union is located in the heart of Berkeley on UC Berkeley's famous Sproul Plaza. Pauley Ballroom is a 9,000-square-foot open space with hardwood floors, 30-foot ceilings, and a view of the Campanile.

Hearst Gym Reservations
How to Make A Reservation:
Reservations will be accepted starting at MIDNIGHT on August 4, 2014 via email to
. The first day that Hearst Gym can actually be used is August 28! Reservations will be processed in the order they are received and those submitted before August 4, will be processed last.
For the first three weeks of the semester student groups can book Hearst between the following hours: Monday-Friday: 9pm-12am
Saturday & Sunday: 9am-9pmStarting Monday, September 15 2014, we will be able to accept reservations for open hours: Monday-Friday: 5pm-12am
Saturday & Sunday: 9am-9pmREMINDER: Registered Student groups will no longer be limited to having 5 reservations at one time through Event Services. There will be no limit on the number of reservations a group can make for the semester. Reservations will be taken on a first come first serve basis.REMINDER: Groups that do not show up to a reservation without canceling (with at least 24 hours notice) will be issued a warning. The second time the group does not show up without cancelling will result in that group forfeiting reservations for the remainder of the semester. Hearst Gym staff will check rooms to ensure that they are being used.NEW: Hearst Gym requires all guests to have a Cal 1 Card when using the space on weekends and evenings. Please note that groups needing a guest pass can seek approval through Event Services.
