Welcome to "HUB," the Hearst Gym Space Access through the B.E.A.R.S. Initiative
The B.E.A.R.S. Initiative, approved by students in spring 2010, includes funding to provide registered student groups at Cal with access to space for their activities at the Hearst Gymnasium, within published guidelines and free of charge for standard use. Rooms are available during the evenings Monday through Friday and during the days on weekends. The program runs for 15 weeks during Fall and Spring semesters during the academic year, coinciding with the academic calendar from the start of instruction through the last week of classes.
Hearst Gym is located just above (southeast) of Barrows Hall and south of the large green playfield known as Hearst Field. There are five rooms in the gym available for registered student groups to use.
Groups that show up more than 15 minutes late to a reservation or leave more than 15 minutes early will be warned after the first offense. After the second infraction that particular group will be banned from booking Hearst Gym for the rest of the semester.
